Everyone collects glass. We started our glass series using bottles we found buried on the grounds of a pre WWII glass factory in the Normandy countryside of France. Recently when asked by friends what we were currently working on, the mention of glass brought forth their bottle collections. So we have added a few more to the line up. Turns out everyone saves glass bottles, and jars, as they are good to use as a vase, or vessel for home brewed beer, liqueurs, and herbed vinegars and to replace all those broken glasses in the cabinet.
What do wine bottles and footballs have in common?
It is the ‘punt. In the wine bottle, it is the dimple at the bottom and its purpose is to strengthen the structure of the bottle and to trap the sediments in the wine. In football the punt is where Lucy got Charlie Brown upset.
