AN ARTFUL LOOK AT THE ECLIPSE

For one minute on August 21 here in St. Louis we were fortunate enough to view the amazing aura of a total eclipse of the Sun.
But afterwards the partial eclipse created unusual patterns. Here is the shadow of Madeline photographing one, as created by the light filtered through the leaves of an oak tree.

One thing is certain about the moon, it is forever changing.

Shakespeare said “Do not swear by the moon for she changes constantly; then your love would also change.” Another thing is that it is always there, loyal, steadfast, watching every day and becoming a different version of itself. On the 21st it was having fun blocking the earth from the sun as illustrated in this cut out photogram we created.

20 x 20″, or 27 x 27″ each square

From the eclipse the light was refracted under the large oak creating an unusual pattern 30 X 40″

The Moon Shadow series is reimagined in the reflected colors of the Sun.

20 x 20″ each square
